Job summary

Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our team providing high-quality pharmaceutical care.

The role features pharmacokinetic dosing, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication review for high-risk patients, with responsibilities including counseling, lab monitoring, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Wyoming.
• ACLS certification within 6 months.
• Strong mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and shares state-of-the-art drug therapy expertise.
• Pharmacokinetic dosing and lab monitoring.
• Antimicrobial stewardship and anticoagulation monitoring.
• Medication review and discharge counselling on high-risk patients.
• Pediatric medication monitoring.
• Serve as drug therapy resource for physicians and mid-level practitioners.
• Review medication orders for appropriateness and communicate concerns to the provider.
• Assist with pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing and order labs as indicated.
• Accurately supplies medication to patients.
• Identify, prevent, and follow up on drug-related problems.
• Supervise ancillary pharmacy personnel to optimize efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

Base salary starts at $70.20/hr.

• Develops, maintains, and shares with other Pharmacists, state-of-the-art drug therapy expertise.
• Pharmacokinetic dosing and lab monitoring.
• Antimicrobial Stewardship and Anticoagulation monitoring.
• Medication review/discharge counselling on high risk patients
• Pediatric medication monitoring
• Serve as drug therapy resource for Physicians and Mid-Level Practitioners.
• Review medication orders for appropriateness based on indication, dosage, and patient-specific parameters, and communicate concerns or recommendations to ordering provider.
• Assist with pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing for selected medications per approved protocols, including ordering labs where indicated.
• Accurately supplies medication to patients.
• Carefully identifies, prevents, and follows up on drug related problems.
• Supervises ancillary pharmacy personnel to optimize their efficiency and productivity.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy required.

E X P E R I E N C E

• Three (3) years of previous hospital experience, or residency, preferred

C R E D E N T I A L S

• Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Wyoming, with a current, valid license and be in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy.
• ACLS certified within 6 months.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers, ordering providers and the general public verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.

• Ability to learn new computer software programs.
• Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
