UF Health in Gainesville seeks a pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care, dispense medications, and educate patients and staff. The role partners with physicians and nurses to ensure optimal therapy and safety.

Applicants must hold a Pharmacy degree (PharmD considered) and be eligible for Florida licensure within 90 days. Supervisory responsibilities cover 3–18 staff in an active clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Florida Pharmacist license or eligibility within 90 days of hire/transfer.

Overview

To provide and support pharmaceutical care including medication dispensing, preventing, identifying and resolving drug related problems, promoting optimal therapeutics and medication education. To participate in the performance improvement, academic programs and clinical research activities of the department. To serve as a liaison to the medical and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy -OR- Pharm D. degree (Doctor of Pharmacy)
• Preferred Education: Post-graduate residency training
• Necessary Skills: Attention to detail and ability to distinguish drug products. Fine motor coordination and manual dexterity. Computer skills and accuracy in calculations. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Supervision of technician employees.
• Required Licensure/Certifications: Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida-OR-Eligible for Pharmacist license in the State of Florida within 90 days of the date of hire/transfer
• Required Experience: Less than one year pharmacist/intern experience
• Preferred Experience: Experience and/or advanced training in specific practice area
• Supervision: Supervisory responsibility of 3-18 employees
• Age of Patients Served: All age groups
