Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Pharmacist to join Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital inside UPMC West Shore in Mechanicsburg, PA. Per Diem role with weekend work once a month and weekday opportunities as well. Compensation is $68.00 per hour, with orientation and potential pathways to full-time opportunities.

The role focuses on drug distribution, clinical support, and patient education, ensuring accurate therapy and continuous quality improvement in a busy inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet state licensure requirements.
• BLS certification if required by state.
• PharmD or BS Pharm with advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
• POETs post-offer employment testing completed before first day of work.

Responsibilities

• Operate across drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support to hospital pharmacy function in fast-paced setting.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the hospital pharmacy.
• Educate patients on discharged medications.

Location: inside UPMC West Shore
Schedule: Per Diem, 1 weekend per month, week day opportunities available as well.

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
