Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital – McKeesport is seeking a Pharmacist to join our inpatient post‑ICU care team. This per diem role supports multiple areas of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution, IV admixture, and clinical hospital pharmacy operations.

The ideal candidate holds a PharmD or BS Pharm with licensure and may have residency training. Per Diem or part‑time roles offer pathway to full‑time opportunities within a growing program.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure required.
• BLS if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support of hospital pharmacy in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on medications to be used after discharge.
• Develop and participate in training and education programs for new staff.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
