Job summary

Select Medical's SSH-Madison unit is seeking a Pharmacist for per diem shifts. You’ll join a hospital pharmacy team handling drug distribution, central operations and IV admixture, while providing clinical support in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires current state licensure, with BLS if required. PharmD or BS Pharm plus residency is preferred; hospital experience is desirable. Compensation is $70 per hour on a per diem basis, with orientation and potential advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support of hospital pharmacy in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy.
• Inform and instruct patients on discharge medications.
• Develop and participate in staff training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
• Hospital experience preferred.
