Job summary

Valleywise Health System in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Pharmacist to oversee the medication use process in outpatient services. Under the direction of the Assistant Director Pharmacy-Outpatient Services, you will supervise technicians and interns, coordinate workflow, and ensure safe, effective dispensing and monitoring of medications.

Candidates must hold a PharmD or bachelor’s degree with Arizona licensure, have at least one year of retail/outpatient experience, and complete fingerprint

Qualifications

• PharmD or PharmD-equivalent with active Arizona licensure.
• One year of retail/outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Valid fingerprint clearance card or plan to obtain one.

Job description

Under the direction of the Assistant Director Pharmacy-Outpatient Services, the Pharmacist oversees the daily activities of the medication use process (selecting, prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medications) and provides comprehensive assessments and analysis in collaboration with integrated team members. The pharmacist oversees the activities of the pharmacy technicians and interns, coordinating workflow and verifying all medications prepared for patients.

Hourly Pay Rate: $54.68 - $80.65

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm D) with current licensure in Arizona.
• Experience: One (1) year of retail/outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Certification /Licensure: Requires Pharmacy licensure in good standing in the state of Arizona.
• Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety OR submit a completed Affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card.

• Requires qualification to participate in federal health care programs, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid.
• Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
