Job summary

Saliba’s Extended Care Pharmacy, part of the Guardian family, invites you to join our Phoenix team as a Pharmacy Intern Pharmacist on a PRN schedule. Under the supervision of a licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will gain hands-on experience in dispensing, compounding IVs and medications, and patient interactions while meeting graduation requirements.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related experience
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment on multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming orders from healthcare providers
• Verify dispensing legality based on allergies and interactions
• Interpret prescription orders and exercise professional judgment
• Compound IV, topical, and oral medications
• Prepare medications for final dispensing and packaging
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
• Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par
• Notify customers if product is out of stock and when it can be filled
• Restock station supplies as needed
