Polaris Pharmacy Services, Rockaway Township, NJ, is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support day-to-day operations, including patient consultations, data verification, and prescription preparation under a licensed pharmacist. The role requires active intern status and a readiness to cover evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Formación

• Active pharmacy intern license in state of practice.
• Experience in pharmacy operations and medication preparation preferred.
• Ability to perform duties under supervision of licensed pharmacist.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in preparing new and refill prescriptions; verify packaging and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain resident medication history and applicable clinical data.
• Assist in handling, documentation, and storage of controlled substances; support inventory for Schedule II drugs.
• Receive verbal orders from prescribers under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Issue Emergency Drug Kit Authorizations for controlled meds per DEA regulations when applicable.
• Respond to drug-related questions from staff and customers under supervision.
• Document communications with physicians, nurses, and patients in medical records.
• Assist in sterile IV drug preparation when required.
• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.
• Follow HIPAA and all government regulations.
• Perform other duties; participate in preferred product/interchange programs where applicable.
