Job summary

UHS in Spokane, WA is seeking a Pharmacist Intern to support the Director of Pharmacy in delivering pharmaceutical care in compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and state/federal regulations. You will review medication orders, assist with dispensing, counsel patients, and help maintain medication safety and inventory, under pharmacist supervision.

This internship requires enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program and an active intern license, with at least basic healthcare exposure

Qualifications

Enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy Program.
Active Pharmacist Intern License.
Knowledge of dosage for age-specific populations.
Working knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, OSHA regulations, and state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Pharmacy to perform pharmaceutical distribution and preparations under supervision.
Review medication orders and document in the pharmacy software under pharmacist oversight.
Monitor patient drug interactions and adverse reactions with pharmacist coordination.
Counsel patients and provide educational materials as required.
Dispense narcotics and maintain inventories under supervision.
Dispose of hazardous pharmaceutical waste under supervision.
Ensure proper distribution, procurement, and clinical services functions under supervision.
