Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Pharmacist Infusion Specialist within the MultiCare Cancer Institute. This per diem role supports prompt and accurate pharmaceutical care for patients, nurses and physicians across the cancer program.

The incumbent will dispense medications, interpret IV orders, and prepare IV admixtures, while supervising staff and ensuring safe pharmaceutical practices. Washington licensure and a hospital/clinic background are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Licensed as a pharmacist in Washington state.
• ASHP-accredited residency preferred.
• Minimum one year of pharmacy experience in hospital, retail, clinic, or other.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications to patients and interpret IV admixture orders.
• Manufacture nonstandard pharmaceutical preparations and maintain records.
• Supervise support personnel and perform final checks.
• Inspect pharmaceutical supplies across services and ensure safe provision of care.

MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System, delivering integrated hematology, oncology, radiation, surgical and supportive care across Washington state. Position Summary

The Pharmacist Infusion Specialty Services is an exciting professional opportunity at MultiCare, ensuring prompt and accurate pharmaceutical care services for patients, nurses and physicians. This position will offer you the capacity to apply your knowledge and expertise toward supporting quality health services and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• You will dispense medications to patients and interpret IV admixture orders and prepare primary IV/solutions
• You will manufacture nonstandard pharmaceutical preparations when required and maintains appropriate records
• You will supervise support personnel and assumes responsibility for final check of all completed work
• You will assist in the inspection of all pharmaceutical supplies on all services
• You will provide for the safe and accurate provision of pharmaceutical care service

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy
• Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington
• Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of pharmacy experience preferred in setting appropriate to work assignment (hospital, retail, clinic or other)
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $75.89 - $101.98 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
