Responsibilities

• Review and execute prescriptions for appropriateness and legality.
• Organize the pharmacy efficiently to enable quick product identification.
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling; monitor expiration dates.
• Listen to customers, interpret needs, and provide information and advice.
• Prepare medicines with correct dosages and materials for each patient.
• Maintain patient profiles and dispensing history.
• Stay current with HIPAA, credentialing, and compliance rules.
• Ensure pharmacy and staff comply with federal, state, and local laws.
• Direct daily work of Pharmacy Technicians and provide input on performance issues.
• Manage Pharmacy Technicians' schedules and coordinate leave or accommodations.

OPEN JOB: Pharmacist In Charge (Retail)

LOCATION: Champaign, Illinois

BASE SALARY: $140,000 to $160,000

WORK HOURS Monday-Friday - normally between 8:30AM-5:00PM

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Candidates should have min. 3 years’ pharmacy manager experience.
• Candidate should have previous retail pharmacy experience to be considered.
• Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree
• Active pharmacy license for the state of Illinois

DESCRIPTION

Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

• Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
• Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
• Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
• Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
• Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
• Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
• Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
• Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
• Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.

REQUIRED

• Current License to practice (PharmD) in Illinois
• Excellent oral, written skills
• Fluent in the English Language
• Previous leadership
• Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
• Min 5 years or more of retail pharmacy experience
