Qualifications

• PharmD is required for this role.
• Current license to practice (PharmD) in Illinois.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Minimum 3–5 years of retail pharmacy management experience.
• Experience using a patient management system in the pharmacy.
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and dispense prescriptions ensuring appropriateness and legality.
• Organize the pharmacy for efficient product identification.
• Manage inventory, stocking, labeling, and monitor expiration.
• Provide information and advice to customers.
• Prepare medicines with correct dosages for each patient.
• Maintain patient profiles and dispensing history.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and fraud and abuse credentialing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Direct daily work of pharmacy technicians and provide input on performance.
• Schedule pharmacy technicians and coordinate leave requests.

Pharmacist in Charge- Relocation Assistance Available!!

Monday-Friday -9:00AM-5:30PM

Pharmacy will close for lunch-12:30PM-1:00PM

Primary Role: Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality.
• Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration.
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
• Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient.
• Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed.
• Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing.
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated.
• Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies.
• Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
• Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.

Required Education & Skills:

• PharmD is required for this role.
• Current License to practice (PharmD) in Illinois
• Excellent oral, written skills

Experience:

• Must have previous experience working within retail pharmacy environment.
• Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy.
• Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience.
