Job summary

The Texas Department of State Health Services in Austin seeks a Pharmacist II to serve as Pharmacist-In-Charge for the Central Pharmacy Class A and to supervise Class D pharmacies across regions.

The role provides leadership in drug repackaging, formulary development, regulatory compliance, and staff training, with on-site supervision and limited telework not allowed.

FLSA exempt, full-time, day shift, travel up to 30% and competitive state benefits.

Qualifications

• Current valid pharmacist license with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or PharmD/BS equivalent required.
• Five years of pharmacist experience preferred.
• Current Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pharmacist-In-Charge for the Class A Central Pharmacy and supervise Class D pharmacies.
• Lead drug repackaging, relabeling, and distribution with compliance to FDA/TSBP regulations.
• Develop formulary and policy manuals; provide staff training and guidance.
• Coordinate with Unit Director and Operations Unit Manager on program execution.
