Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support daily medication operations at the State Supported Living Center. You will pre-pack unit-dose medications, verify labels, and assist with routine and non-routine orders under pharmacist supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma, PTCB certification, Texas Board registration, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required; successful higher education preferred.
• Must be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Pre-package and label unit-dose and multiple dose medication orders.
• Operates unit-dose packaging system and other equipment for packaging of medications.
• Performs monthly Medication Room Inspections and maintains logs and policy compliance.
• Assists pharmacist with non-routine medication orders for furloughs, discharges, and home visits.
• Fill Medication Carts using refill lists, labeling, and quality checks.
• Maintain stock and inventory for after-hours cabinet and carts; ensure par levels.
• Coordinates and oversees clerical and technical support work in the pharmacy.
