Job summary

SpecialtyRx in Milford, MA seeks a Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to ensure adherence to pharmacy procedures and SOPs under COO supervision. This role focuses on safe supply of medications to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities.

You will evaluate orders, supervise medication preparation, maintain patient records, and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize therapy while ensuring regulatory compliance. This is a leadership role in a LTC pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in MA.
• 5–10 years of hospital and retail pharmacy or related medical fields.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure dispensed medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and client staff when needed.
• Maintain customers’ database including medical history and clinical data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team about medication-related queries.
• Supervise preparation of medicines.
• Maintain register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control.

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long term care facilities and assisted living communities.

The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure the adherence of the pharmacy procedures and SOPs. In accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure regulations are correct and safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the COO.

Notice: SpecialtyRx is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge -PIC to become a part of our NEW! Milford, MA location.

Pharmacist In Charge Responsibilities:

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
• Maintain dispense medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
• Maintain customers’ database including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
• Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform “on-call” duties when required.

Pharmacist In Charge Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of MA.
• 5-10 years of experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
