Job summary

SpecialtyRx is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge for our Milford, MA location. You will oversee pharmacy procedures and SOPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations under the COO's supervision.

The role requires MA Licensure, 5–10 years in hospital/retail settings, and LTC experience is preferred. Strong analytical skills, communication, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in MA with current license.
• 5-10 years experience in hospital and/or retail pharmacy.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, dosing, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure dispensed medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make therapy change recommendations to physicians and staff when needed.
• Maintain patient and facility medical records and related data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries with facilities' staff.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team on medication issues.
• Supervise preparation of medications.
• Maintain records for controlled substances and ensure security.
• Perform on-call duties as required.

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long term care facilities and assisted living communities.

The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure the adherence of the pharmacy procedures and SOPs. In accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure regulations are correct and safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the COO.

Notice: SpecialtyRx is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge -PIC to become a part of our NEW! Milford, MA location!

Pharmacist In Charge Responsibilities:

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
• Maintain dispense medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
• Maintain customers’ database including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
• Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform “on-call” duties when required.

Pharmacist In Charge Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of MA.
• 5-10 years of experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Computer skills.
• Framework/ECM software knowledge a plus.
