Island Compounding Pharmacy specializes in custom, non-sterile compounded medications that support personalized and preventative care. We formulate bioidentical hormones, nutraceutical blends, and individualized medication packets designed to optimize outcomes for Lile Wellness patients.

Working in close collaboration with the Lile Wellness clinical team, we deliver precise, high-quality compounded therapies tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Position Summary

The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is responsible for leading daily pharmacy operations while ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations, including USP <795> and <800> standards.

This is a leadership role ideal for an experienced compounding pharmacist who values regulatory excellence, operational efficiency, and team development. Prior PIC experience is welcomed, though strong leadership capability in a compounding environment is equally valued.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
  • Serve as the designated PIC in accordance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <800>, DEA regulations, and applicable state laws
  • Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and compounded preparations
  • Ensure the pharmacy remains inspection-ready at all times
  • Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Operational Leadership
  • Optimize workflow and compounding processes for efficiency and accuracy
  • Oversee ingredient sourcing, ordering, receiving, and inventory management
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure adherence to compounding protocols
  • Implement quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff
  • Reinforce safety, sanitation, and documentation standards
  • Partner with leadership on staffing, hiring, and onboarding
Clinical & Provider Support
  • Review and verify prescriptions and compounded formulations
  • Collaborate with prescribers regarding customized therapies
  • Address patient or provider concerns related to compounded medications
Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of operation
  • 3–5 years of compounding pharmacy experience
  • Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <800>, DEA regulations, and state pharmacy law
  • Experience in non-sterile compounding required
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
