Job summary

Veracity Solutions is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for our new Galena, Illinois location. Full-Time, Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-5:30 PM with lunch 12:30-1:00, on-site parking.

The PIC will prepare and dispense medications, lead pharmacy technicians, manage inventory, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver patient care while overseeing day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Pharmacist license in Illinois.
• Retail pharmacy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise pharmacy technicians daily.
• Review prescriptions for legality and appropriateness.
• Maintain inventory, labeling, and prevent expiration.

The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for preparing and dispensing medications while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on retail pharmacy management experience. The PIC will lead pharmacy technicians, manage inventory, ensure compliance, and deliver exceptional patient care.

Primary Role: Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions

• Review and execute provider's prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
• Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
• Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
• Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
• Keep abreast and stay current with HIP nd Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
• Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
• Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
• Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
• Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
• Other duties as necessary

Requirements

Required Education & Skills:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Current License to practice (PharmD) in Pennsylvania
• Excellent oral, written skills

Experience:

• Must have prev. exp. working within retail pharmacy environment
• Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
• Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience

• Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Fine Motor Skills
