Job summary

John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, part of Desert Care Network, seeks a licensed hospital pharmacist for a Per Diem, rotating shift. You will integrate with medical staff and nursing to ensure optimal drug therapy and supervise staff in the Director’s absence.

The ideal candidate holds a Pharm.D or CA-licensed R.Ph., with hospital pharmacy experience and familiarity with unit dose and IV admixtures. Join a team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Registered pharmacist in California (R.Ph. or Pharm.D).
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree; hospital residency preferred.
• Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience.
• Familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, and clinical pharmacy practice.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drug therapy needs are met and supervise department staff in the absence of the Director/Asst Director.
• Establish rapport with other departments, medical staff and nursing services.
• Oversee pharmacy operations to maintain safety and accuracy of medication dispensing.

Under the auspices of the Director of Pharmacy, the staff pharmacist is responsible for assuring drug therapy needs. This individual establishes rapport with other departments as well as the medical staff and nursing services. He/she supervises department personnel in the absence of the Director or the Assistant Director.

Qualifications

1.Individual must be a registered pharmacist, R.Ph. or Pharm.D in the State of California.
2.Individual shall preferably have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed a hospital residency.
3.Individual shall preferably have a minimum of two (2) years experience in hospital pharmacy practice or equivalent.
4.Individual shall be familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, and clinical pharmacy practice.
