Job summary

Avel eCare in Sioux Falls, SD and San Antonio, TX seeks an experienced Pharmacist to deliver high‑quality pharmaceutical care and improve patient outcomes across multiple EMRs. The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians, educate patients on medication use and safety, document activities, and uphold ASHP‑driven standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriber orders for safety, efficacy, and appropriateness for dispensing across multiple EMRs.
• Collaborate with physicians and prescribers to recommend optimal therapy solutions following ASHP standards.
• Provide critical drug-related information to healthcare providers to ensure safe medication practices.
• Educate patients on medication usage, side effects, and expected outcomes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and meet the needs of patients from neonates to geriatrics.
• Accurately document all completed tasks within the order management system.
• Foster excellent relationships with contracted remote facilities and healthcare teams.

Available Hours of Work:

3, 12-hour shifts (Nights) for Full-time; Every other weekend for PRN (Saturday and Sunday, 7 AM to 12 PM)

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality pharmaceutical care, ensuring optimal medication-related outcomes to improve patients' quality of life. The ideal candidate will take personal accountability for patient outcomes, collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Evaluate prescriber orders for safety, efficacy, and appropriateness for dispensing across multiple EMRs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency or hospital experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:

• Pharmacist license in the residing state (required).
• Willing to obtain additional state licenses within 120 days of hire (specific states to be determined).
