Job summary

Avel eCare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team onsite in Sioux Falls, SD or San Antonio, TX. You will deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care, review orders, educate patients, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapy and patient outcomes.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, active licensure in the state, and readiness to obtain additional licenses within 120 days.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in the residing state; ability to obtain other licenses within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriber orders for safety, efficacy, and appropriateness for dispensing across multiple EMRs.
• Collaborate with physicians to recommend optimal therapy following ASHP standards.
• Provide critical drug information to healthcare providers to ensure safe medication practices.
• Educate patients on medication usage, side effects, and expected outcomes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and meet needs of patients from neonates to geriatrics.
• Document all completed tasks within the order management system.
• Foster relationships with contracted remote facilities and healthcare teams.

Hours/FTE: 36 hours weekly, 0.9 FTE (Full-time); 10 hours weekly, PRN

Available Hours of Work: 3, 12-hour shifts (Nights) for Full-time; Every other weekend for PRN (Saturday and Sunday, 7 AM to 12 PM)

Summary

The ideal candidate will take personal accountability for patient outcomes, collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Essential Functions

• Provide critical drug-related information to healthcare providers to ensure safe medication practices.

• Accurately document all completed tasks within the order management system.
• Foster excellent relationships with contracted remote facilities and healthcare teams.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency or hospital experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, And/or REGISTRATIONS

• Pharmacist license in the residing state (required).
• Willing to obtain additional state licenses within 120 days of hire (specific states to be determined).
