Job summary

Avel eCare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team onsite in Sioux Falls or San Antonio. You will evaluate orders, collaborate with providers, and educate patients to improve outcomes.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, an active license, and ASHP residency or hospital experience; four additional state licenses must be obtained within 120 days. Nights, 40 hours weekly, 1.0 FTE.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in the residing state is required.
• Must obtain four additional state licenses within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriber orders for safety, efficacy, and appropriateness for dispensing across multiple EMRs.
• Collaborate with physicians and prescribers to recommend optimal therapy solutions following ASHP standards.
• Provide critical drug-related information to healthcare providers to ensure safe medication practices.
• Educate patients on medication usage, side effects, and expected outcomes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and meet the needs of patients from neonates to geriatrics.
• Accurately document all completed tasks within the order management system.
• Foster excellent relationships with contracted remote facilities and healthcare teams.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

ASHP-accredited residency or hospital experience
