Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Columbus, LLC, part of the Guardian Family of pharmacies, is seeking a pharmacist to join a fast-paced, patient-focused environment in Columbus, Ohio. You will accurately dispense medications, review orders, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations to safeguard patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD required.
  • State Pharmacist License required without restrictions.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging.
  • Review orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions are filled correctly.
  • Verify legality and feasibility of dispensing a drug based on allergies and interactions.
  • Interpret prescription orders and exercise professional judgment on dispense qualifications and safety.
  • Adhere to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies when needed.
  • Inventory management and ordering to maintain par levels.
  • Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, and staff.

About Guardian Pharmacy of Columbus

Guardian Pharmacy of Columbus, LLC, a member of the Guardian Family of pharmacies, provides long‑term care pharmacy services. This position offers an opportunity to grow within a fast‑paced, diverse, and inclusive environment.

Schedule

Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday Rotation: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Pay Range

$120,000 – $140,000

Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging
  • Review completed orders and cycle‑fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly
  • Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patient allergies, incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.
  • Interpret prescription orders and exercise professional judgment regarding dispense qualifications, patient safety, and legal limitations
  • Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Adhere to all applicable guidelines for compounding
  • Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed
  • Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
  • Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par
  • On exception items, look up most cost‑effective product to order
  • Notify customer/facility if product is out of stock and when the order can be filled
  • Restock station supplies as needed – vials, cassettes, labels, delivery tickets, etc.
  • Oversee the work of all technicians and give feedback to their supervisor regarding performance
  • Log all error medication occurrences
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD – required

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment that involves multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
  • Medical consulting experience preferred
