Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services, counsel patients and supervise pharmacy technicians. You will ensure compliance with professional standards, regulations and company values while delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, counseling patients, immunizations and collaboration with prescribers. This role supports multiple locations as needed and requires strong teamwork and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Board of Pharmacy license; effective interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; friendly, approachable demeanor and teamwork.
• Desired: APhA Immunization Certification; strong math and clinical collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by showing sincerity, patience and respect in all interactions and thanking customers.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Adhere to all state and federal guidelines regarding annual licensing and restrictions on dispensing drugs.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter prescription and patient data into the computer system.
• Provide pharmacy technician prescription information and supervise filling.
• Counsel patients over the phone and in person regarding side effects, administration, interactions, and adherence.
• Consult with prescribers on drug therapy appropriateness.
• Follow approved procedures for filling prescriptions.
• Administer immunizations under defined protocols.
• Provide direct patient clinical services, including coaching and medication therapy management.
• Monitor/maintain patient profiles.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate service levels.
• Perform daily operations under the pharmacy manager’s direction.
• Follow department policies and safety programs; HIPAA compliance.
• Report any illegal activity; ensure safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Maintain safety and sanitation per health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Physical demands include vision, dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Maintain ability to work at multiple locations as needed.
• Must perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
