Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a Pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services, including filling prescriptions, counseling patients and supervising pharmacy technicians.

You will ensure services comply with professional standards and regulations, reflecting Kroger’s values of respect, integrity, diversity and safety. Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, counseling patients, maintaining accurate records, administering immunizations and ensuring quality customer care.

Qualifications

• Board of Pharmacy license required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

• Sound judgment/decision making skills.
• Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
• Strong math skills (calculate discounts, proportions, percentages).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service with sincerity and respect.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Adhere to all state and federal guidelines regarding licensing and dispensing drugs.
• Interpret physicians’ prescriptions and enter prescription and patient data into computer system.
• Provide pharmacist prescription information and supervise filling.
• Counsel patients about side effects, administration and interactions.
• Consult with prescriber on drug therapy primarily.
• Follow approved procedures when filling prescriptions.
• Administer immunizations under defined protocols.
• Provide direct patient clinical services including medication therapy management.
• Monitor/maintain patient profiles.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate service levels.
• Perform daily operational duties under supervision of pharmacy manager.
• Follow department policies and safety guidelines.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
