Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacist to join our Cost Containment team in Ridgefield Park, NJ. This full-time position ensures safe distribution of medications to client facilities under the supervision of the Director of Cost Containment.

The role involves evaluating orders, recommending therapy changes when necessary, and collaborating with nursing staff and physicians. Ideal candidates hold NJ licensure with LTC experience and are proficient in LTC frameworks.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of NJ (Required)
• Long Term Care experience preferred
• Previous experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields
• Knowledge of drug pricing and medication classes, preferred
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Computer literate, knowledge of Frameworks LTC system, PLUS

Responsibilities

• Make recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and client facilities staff.
• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Apply clinical skills: medical history, therapies and laboratory data.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team regarding medication queries.
• Provide shift coverage and perform cost-containment and therapeutic interchange tasks across locations.
