Join to apply for the Pharmacist Clinical/Staff role at Waterbury Hospital.

Under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, provides advanced pharmaceutical care by assisting in the development and coordination of clinical pharmacy services and educational programs for the department. Responsible for providing tools and educational opportunities to enhance services provided by staff members. Participates in intra- and interdepartmental committees as assigned. Serves as preceptor to pharmacy students and residents. Participates in developing institution-wide drug use policies. Performs duties involving receiving, storage, compounding, and dispensing medications and supplies. Assesses patient drug therapy, reviews drug interactions, incompatibilities, adverse effects, and appropriate dosing. Documents patient care and supervises technical staff. Reports to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager.

Requirements:

  • PharmD degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy
  • Current pharmacist license in Connecticut
  • Three to five years of in-patient pharmacy experience or completed PGY1 residency
  • Board certification in a pharmacy specialty within the first 3 years of employment
  • Effective verbal communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in compounding, preparing, and dispensing drugs
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to pharmacy practice
  • Ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals
