Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Michigan (licensure within 30 days if eligible).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy.
• Ability to teach and train students and health care providers.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sterile compounding in acute care or health system settings.
• Experience with total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-oriented pharmacy services on your shift.
• Exercise sound clinical judgment in decision-making.
• Assist in identifying and resolving problems within your area.
• Train pharmacy interns and externs.
• Disseminate drug information to health care personnel.
• Collaborate to develop improved patient services.
• Oversee sterile compounding activities and supervise staff.
• Prepare patient-specific and batch sterile compounds (TPN, IV chemotherapy).
• Perform final CSP visual inspection, verification, labeling, and storage.
• Maintain documentation for cleanroom facilities and products.
• Communicate with sites about orders and batches.
• Respond to inquiries and triage issues.
• Assist in evaluating and deploying new CSPs.
• Maintain inventory.
• Ensure compliance with USP, state, federal sterile compounding standards and HFH policies.
• Identify process improvements with CSCC team.
• Assist with inspections preparation (FDA, NABP, DEA, TJC, state boards).
• Respond to calls and messages.
• Receive orders and prepare medications for delivery.
• Perform cleaning as needed.
• Assist with training staff and precepting.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Act as operational leader as required.
