Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist for Centralized Sterile Compounding. This part-time role supports sterile compounding workflows and requires strict aseptic technique to prepare CSPs and TPN/batch products.

The candidate will assist in room setup, perform routine clean room tasks, and ensure accurate documentation. On-call and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience or two (2) years in other settings.
• Minimum of 2 years of sterile compounding in acute care, health system, home health, infusion center, or 503a/b setting
• Valid State of MI pharmacy technician licensure.
• PC skills and strong verbal/written communication abilities.
• Availability for on-call system support and weekend/holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies.
• Performs routine clean room environmental cleaning and documents per policy.
• Prepares patient-specific (TPN, IV chemotherapy) and batch sterile compounds.
• Uses and maintains sterile compounding automation.
• Performs final CSP labeling and storage.
• Completes all required documentation for patient-specific and batch products.
• Collaborates with pharmacy staff to maintain inventory.
• Responds to telephone and electronic inquiries.
• Receives orders and prepares medications for delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
