Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Pharmacist to coordinate and provide pharmaceutical care to patients. This full-time day-shift role involves working with an interdisciplinary team to review medication orders and ensure safe, effective drug therapy.

You will educate medical staff and patients, document interventions, and support quality improvement efforts. Kentucky license and Doctor of Pharmacy are required; candidates must handle stress and act decisively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
  • Pharmacy license in Kentucky.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Pharmacist coordinates and provides the pharmaceutical care of patients.

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts. Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry.
  • Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required;
  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy License in the state of Kentucky
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
