Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist for the Acute unit in a full-time, day-shift role in Somerset, KY. You will coordinate pharmaceutical care within an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

The position requires a Doctor of Pharmacy, Kentucky license, and strong critical thinking with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Comprehensive hospital services support patient care across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Pharmacy license in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and provides pharmaceutical care to patients as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Manages drug therapy protocols and reviews medication orders for accuracy and safety.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, patients, and students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
  • Checks accuracy after pharmacist- or technician-filled orders.

Position Summary

The Pharmacist coordinates and provides the pharmaceutical care of patients.

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts. Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry.
  • Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree Required;
  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy License in the state of Kentucky
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
