CornerStone Medical in Washington, NC is seeking a Pharmacist for onsite employment, temp to perm. Compensation is $67.14/hr with a Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM schedule and occasional Saturdays on a rotating basis with full-time pharmacists.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensure medicines stock complies with the law.
• Ensure prescribed medicines are suitable for patients.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients on medicines, proper usage, and potential reactions.

• Educate on handling medical devices like BP monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external or internal use and prepare sterile solutions.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE: $67.14/hr Schedule: M-F 9-6 PM with occasional Saturdays. the Saturdays will be on a rotating schedule that they will be on with the FT pharmacists

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions.
• Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external or internal use.
• Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc.
• Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify patients drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
• Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc.

Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.

Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
