Job summary

Carolina Apothecary in Reidsville, NC is looking for an experienced licensed pharmacist to join our full-time team. You will dispense medications, counsel customers, perform drug therapy reviews, and manage medication safety with a focus on quality patient care.

The ideal candidate has a Pharm.D. or equivalent, NC licensure, and strong communication and teamwork skills to support a busy retail pharmacy environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform pharmacist tasks including dispensing, compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management
• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines
• Provide counseling on medication usage, side effects, and precautions to customers and caregivers
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
• Perform immunizations on a regular basis
• Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other support staff
• Assist pharmacy manager with establishing procedures that promotes the efficient workflow of the pharmacy
• Assist the Pharmacist-in-Charge with staff training
• Responsible for the opening and closing of the pharmacy
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Excellent customer service skills with a customer focused attitude
• Motivate, inspire and assist with development of pharmacy support staff
• Promote teamwork and motivate team members
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:

• Retail pharmacy experience
• Long-term care pharmacy experience a plus
• Compounding experience a plus
• Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy School; preferably with a Pharm. D. degree
• Current NC Board of Pharmacy license
