Job summary

Samaritan Health Services invites applications for an outpatient pharmacist to join the Newport Retail Pharmacy team. The pharmacist will prepare and dispense medications, assess patient status, and educate patients per state and SHS policies.

Requires current Oregon Pharmacist Licensure with hospital pharmacy experience preferred; will participate in pre-employment drug screening and obtain BLS/ACLS/PALS within 90 days of hire. Newport location offers outpatient services in a community setting.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare Provider Level BLS/ACLS/PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications as prescribed by state/federal statutes and SHS policies.
  • Assess clinical status of patients across neonates to geriatrics and provide drug information to the medical team.
  • Educate patients about medications and therapy to support safe and effective use.

Job Summary / Purpose

Performs the duties of Pharmacist as prescribed by state and federal statutes as well as SHS policies. Prepares and dispenses medication; assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Provides drug information to the medical team. Educates patients.

Experience / Education / Qualifications
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre‑employment/post‑offer drug screen.
  • When responsible for participating on the pharmacy code response team, Healthcare Provider Level BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required within 90 days of hire.
