Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking Pharmacists for our Inpatient Pharmacy Department to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; Pharm.D. preferred.
  • Licensure: Current CT Pharmacist license.
  • Experience: Previous hospital or long-term care experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verify medication orders and provide clinical guidance to care teams.
  • Support optimal pharmacotherapy through collaboration with providers, nurses, and other care team members.

Hospital Overview

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital. We provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by talented professionals, we care for patients from birth through the end of life across the region.

Responsibilities

In this essential role, the clinical pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmacy services in a dynamic hospital setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for all patients. As a key member of the healthcare team, the pharmacist verifies medication orders, offers clinical guidance, and supports optimal pharmacotherapy through collaboration with providers, nurses, and other care team members.

The pharmacist will provide care across a variety of clinical settings, including but not limited to critical care, emergency medicine, neonatology, and general medicine. This role also supports the daily operational activities of the pharmacy department.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Pharm.D. preferred.
  • Licensure: Current CT Pharmacist license.
  • Experience: Previous hospital or long-term care experience highly preferred.
