Responsibilities

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and usage patterns.
  • Ensure medicines comply with law and are suitable for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients on medications, dosing, reactions, and interactions.
  • Provide services such as smoking cessation, BP measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on handling medical devices and proper storage of meds.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical supplies.

Job description

TCI has an immediate need for a Pharmacist in Hudson, WI. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Note: This position requires US Citizenship and work is performed on-site.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our team in Hudson, WI. The ideal candidate will provide safe and accurate medication services, counsel patients, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards. Candidates should have a PharmD or equivalent degree, an active Oklahoma pharmacist license, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellent patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accept and dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
  • Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law.
  • Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
  • Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for external or internal use.
  • Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify patient's drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
  • Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Active, unrestricted license in WI.
  • Non-sterile compounding preferred, experience with on call/overnight shifts.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required.
  • Experience with compounding infused drugs
  • Proven record of evaluating and monitoring drug therapies for home care patients
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Participation and membership in professional societies and organizations is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Shift/Days: AS NEEDED BASIS (2 weekend scheduled shifts per month(4 week rotation), 3-4 on call evenings a week)
    Weekend and PTO coverage
    Weekends 12pm to 4pm
    Weekdays 10am to 6pm
    On Call - whenever the pharmacy is closed/after hours 6pm to 10am weekdays, 4pm-12pm on weekends
    $75 per night on call and $75 per on call order.
  • $1,000 bonus granted once candidate is on payroll for 30 days from hire.
