Job summary

VytlOne in Carson City, NV is recruiting a Pharmacist for our new Carson Tahoe Pharmacy to blend retail and specialty pharmacy in a care-transition model. This part-time role averages 16–24 hours per week.

The Pharmacist will dispense, counsel patients, and collaborate with physicians, with supervisory duties when needed. Competitive hourly pay ranges from $68 to $72 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• Current Nevada pharmacist license in good standing.
• Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and fill drug orders.
• Provide patient information and counseling.
• Act as alternate pharmacy leader when Pharmacist-In-Charge is unavailable.
• Communicate with physicians regarding prescription questions.
• Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare IV admixtures (if applicable).
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Maintain patients’ medication records.
• Maintain inventory and records of controlled and other drugs as required by law.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians.
• Provide drug information to staff and patients.
• Participate in inventory control programs and pricing accuracy.
• Attend and participate in facility programs, meetings, and staff training.

VytlOne is currently recruiting for a Pharmacist for our new Carson Tahoe Pharmacy in beautiful Carson City, NV. This is a unique opportunity to practice retail and specialty pharmacy in a model that integrates the pharmacy into the care transition model. The Pharmacist will work on average between 16-24 hours per week.

Salary Range: $68.00 to $72.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and fill drug orders.
• Provide patient information and counseling.
• In the absence of Pharmacist-In-Charge/Pharmacy Manager, may be required to act as the alternate pharmacy leader, responsible for managing ongoing functions of the pharmacy.
• Contact and confer with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
• Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare I.V. admixtures (if applicable).
• Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies and appropriateness.
• Maintain patients’ medication records.
• Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in routine performance of their duties.
• Provide drug information to professional staff and patients as necessary.
• Participate in inventory control programs such as ordering, inventorying and monitoring correct pricing and quantities.
• Attend and participate in programs, committees, meetings, and functions as required by the facility or pharmacy.
• Participate in educational programs for professional staff as necessary.
• Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, pharmacy staff meetings and in-service educational programs.
• Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
• Exemplify excellence in customer communications and service.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies.
• Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
• Comply with VytlOne’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and VytlOne’s Compliance Program.
• Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
• Complete required training and ensure the departmental staff training is completed as required.
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner.
• May assist management with hiring and training competent staff.
• Promote teamwork; discipline staff when warranted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• Current licenses in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state of Nevada.
• Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Health-system experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care.
• A passion for outstanding customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Computer experience mandatory. Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently.
