Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Pharmacist who will provide comprehensive pharmacy services to active-duty service members, veterans, and beneficiaries at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam. This position will support safe, effective medication therapy management across inpatient and outpatient care settings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and military healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services in accordance with facility capabilities, clinical privileges, and organizational policies.
• Review and evaluate medication orders for appropriate use, dosing, potential interactions, therapeutic duplication, contraindications, allergies, and age-specific considerations; collaborate with prescribers to resolve discrepancies.
• Verify accuracy and clinical appropriateness of all medications prepared or processed by pharmacy staff.
• Dispense and compound medications, including sterile preparations, following established protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Counsel patients and families on safe and effective medication use, potential side effects, storage, and treatment adherence.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within electronic and/or manual health record systems.
• Manage inventory and security of pharmaceuticals — especially controlled substances — ensuring proper storage, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal therapeutic outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with updates to pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional competency through continuing education and assist in training or mentoring pharmacy staff as directed.
• The job duties are flexible and subject to change depending upon operational needs.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in both outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services, including: ICU; Med/Surg; NICU; Pediatrics.
• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacist within the last two years.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in any U.S. state or territory.
• Ability to meet all federal and military credentialing requirements prior to start date.
