About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Manager to optimize their operations in the Paarl area. This role is central to ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods. You will oversee all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement and logistics to inventory management and distribution, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to strict pharmaceutical quality and regulatory standards. This hybrid role allows for flexibility while maintaining crucial on-site oversight of operations and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage end-to-end supply chain strategies to support business objectives and ensure product availability.
  • Oversee procurement of raw materials and packaging components, negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and ensuring quality compliance.
  • Manage logistics and transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) .
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (manufacturing, quality assurance, sales) to forecast demand and align supply chain activities.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a significant portion within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, GDP , and quality management systems.
  • Proven experience in demand planning, inventory control, logistics, and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
