With an established commercial organization, a growing global presence, and a robust pipeline, the company is entering an important period of continued growth and organizational evolution.

The company combines the entrepreneurial mindset and agility of biotechnology with the increasing scale and complexity of a global commercial organization. As the business continues to grow, it is seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to lead the global Supply Chain function and serve as a key advisor to the executive leadership team.

Position Overview

The Head of Supply Chain will have overall responsibility for the company's global supply chain strategy and Supply Chain function. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and leaders throughout the organization to ensure the company has the supply strategy, capabilities, systems, external network, and operational infrastructure necessary to support continued growth.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and a willingness to operate directly within the business. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable advising senior executives on complex supply, capacity, inventory, and operational matters and working through the practical details required to build and operate an effective global Supply Chain function.

The role will oversee the full spectrum of Supply Chain, including demand and supply planning, S&OP/IBP, inventory management, procurement, external manufacturing coordination, logistics and distribution, supply chain systems, risk management, and global commercial supply.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Leadership & Supply Chain Strategy

• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on supply strategy, capacity, inventory, supplier performance, business continuity, and operational risk.
• Develop and execute a global supply chain strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
• Provide thoughtful and pragmatic counsel to leaders on supply continuity, capacity, inventory, cost, risk, and operational priorities.
• Anticipate future supply requirements and identify opportunities to strengthen capacity, resilience, inventory strategy, supplier performance, and supply chain infrastructure.
• Support executive and Board-level discussions related to supply continuity, capacity, inventory, operational risk, and long-range supply strategy, as appropriate.
• Partner with leadership to evaluate organizational structure and capabilities as the company continues to scale.
• Lead long-range supply planning, scenario planning, capacity planning, and supply risk assessment across the organization.
• Develop scalable supply planning capabilities and strengthen the team, processes, and tools required for continued growth.
• Establish operating rhythms, governance, metrics, and accountability mechanisms that drive reliable supply performance.
• Partner with leaders on capacity strategy, network design, make-versus-buy decisions, sourcing, inventory, and supply continuity.

Supply Planning & Operations

• Lead global supply planning and execution to ensure reliable product availability across commercial markets and clinical programs.
• Partner closely with Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Clinical, and Technical Operations to align demand and supply plans.
• Develop scalable S&OP/IBP, forecasting, inventory, and supply planning processes while preserving the speed and flexibility required in a biotechnology environment.
• Establish appropriate inventory targets, scenario plans, and business continuity strategies for critical materials and finished goods.

External Manufacturing, Procurement & Logistics

• Oversee external manufacturing supply relationships, strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution activities within the scope of the supply chain organization.
• Maintain a strong understanding of biotechnology manufacturing networks, cold-chain or specialty distribution requirements, and global supply market dynamics.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Quality leadership to ensure external partners and suppliers can reliably meet quality, capacity, service, and business requirements.
• Balance service levels, inventory investment, cost, lead times, capacity, and supply risk in support of commercial and clinical priorities.
• Develop supplier risk-management, dual-sourcing, business-continuity, and contingency strategies for critical materials and services.

Global Supply Chain & Compliance

• Provide leadership for supply chain activities supporting the company's international commercial and clinical operations.
• Navigate the complexities of supplying products across multiple countries, regulatory environments, distribution channels, and third-party networks.
• Ensure supply chain processes appropriately address applicable GxP, trade, serialization, import/export, and market-specific requirements in partnership with Quality, Regulatory, and Legal.
• Partner effectively with contract manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers, distributors, wholesalers, specialty pharmacies, and other external partners, as applicable.
• Manage complex supply disruptions and operational issues with urgency, sound judgment, cross-functional coordination, and appropriate escalation.

Systems, Analytics & Operational Excellence

• Ensure supply chain systems, processes, governance, and operating rhythms effectively support a growing global commercial organization.
• Evaluate and improve ERP, planning, forecasting, inventory, procurement, logistics, and related supply chain systems and tools.
• Establish meaningful KPIs and analytics covering forecast accuracy, inventory, service levels, supplier performance, capacity, lead times, cost, and supply risk.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve the internal stakeholder experience without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Maintain appropriate controls, documentation, data integrity, and confidentiality across supply chain operations.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Serve as a highly collaborative cross-functional leader who connects commercial demand with manufacturing and operational execution as the company grows.
• Build strong partnerships across Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Clinical, and Technical Operations, reinforcing accountability, collaboration, and urgency.
• Communicate supply risks, trade-offs, scenarios, and decisions clearly to executive and functional leadership.
• Serve as a visible, accessible, and credible supply chain leader across the company and with critical external partners.

Required Qualifications

• Significant Supply Chain leadership experience within a global, commercial-stage biotechnology company.
• Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end supply chain requirements within a biotechnology company spanning commercial products, clinical programs, manufacturing, quality, and international markets.
• Experience supporting commercial product supply across multiple countries and complex global supply networks.
• Broad supply chain leadership experience spanning demand and supply planning, S&OP/IBP, inventory management, procurement, external partners, logistics, distribution, systems, and supply risk management.
• Demonstrated experience partnering directly with senior executives on supply strategy, operational risk, capacity, and business-critical decisions.
• Strong knowledge of biotechnology supply chain, external manufacturing networks, supplier management, inventory strategy, logistics, and commercial distribution practices.
• Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or evolving global supply chain processes, systems, capabilities, and infrastructure within a growing organization.
• Strong business and financial acumen and the ability to evaluate supply chain decisions within the broader context of company strategy, patient needs, and financial performance.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

This position is onsite and is intended to be a highly visible leadership role within the organization. Candidates must either currently reside within commuting distance of the company's primary office or be willing to relocate to the area. Candidates seeking a fully remote arrangement will not be considered.
