Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy (LECOM-SOP) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position to teach Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Erie, PA campus, including accelerated and online pathways.

The role includes didactic pharmacology/medicinal chemistry teaching, student advising, committee service, and scholarly activity, with opportunities for professional development and collaboration across LECOM’s campuses.

Qualifications

• Must possess ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and colleagues.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Promote and preserve the mission of LECOM.
• Teach students at the local campus and in the online distance education pathway.
• Coordinate courses and prepare educational tools (A/V, demonstration models, lectures, lesson plans).
• Prepare demonstrations, lectures, small group discussions, and coordinate reading materials with faculty.
• Develop and institute online course policies and delivery methods.
• Contribute to planning and administration of the School of Pharmacy.
• Interview prospective candidates for the School of Pharmacy.
• Advise/mentor assigned students and at least one student club.
• Serve on committees and contribute to scholarly activity annually.
• Prepare evaluation tools to assess student work and identify weaknesses.
• Participate in faculty and professional development opportunities.
• Participate in accreditation and other administrative functions.
• Be available for work during assigned hours for instruction.
• Work with the Dean of Pharmacy and collaborate with other faculty and staff.
• Contribute to student success and outcomes and community engagement.
