Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Greensburg, PA seeks a full-time basic science faculty member to teach in their area of expertise, facilitate PBL, advise Osteopathic Medical students, interview applicants, and contribute to the mission through research and service. The successful candidate will teach onsite at the Greensburg campus.

The role includes PBL supervision, development of educational tools, attendance at team meetings, and active involvement in community outreach

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., etc.) and at least two years of teaching experience at a medical college level preferred.
• Ability to teach in area of expertise and develop PBL materials and assessments.
• Strong communication, confidentiality, and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as content expert in area of expertise and PBL facilitator.
• Provide exam questions for PBL cases and NBOME item writing (if approved).
• Interview prospective applicants for the College of Medicine (COM).
• Advise/mentor assigned students and student clubs; participate in committees.
• Prepare educational tools, lectures, and demonstrations; coordinate with faculty.
• Engage in scholarly activity to enrich student learning and participate in community outreach.
• Represent LECOM in community settings and institutional fundraising activities.
