Pharmaceutical Sales Representative - Nashville, TN

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. has launched a new customer engagement approach designed to better deliver on patient, caregiver, and HCP expectations in an evolving healthcare environment. The new model focuses on local patient care, aiming to serve patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers with a higher quality experience to improve patient care.

The "ecosystem approach" unifies account management, medical, patient access, and market access to engage local healthcare systems and identify opportunities to enhance the patient experience. This matrix model offers more coordinated care with digital support to bridge care gaps.

In this model, a Health Science Advisor (HSA) will engage HCPs through various in-person, virtual, and digital tools, providing expertise on products and conditions. Clinical and Scientific Specialists (CSS) will offer on-demand clinical expertise, personalized education, and thought leadership on disease states and real-world evidence.

These ecosystems are led by Ecosystem Leads within regional groups, with regional autonomy to tailor strategies to local needs. The focus is on quality, accountability, and cohesion between patients and providers, centering on customer needs.

The HSA reports to the Ecosystem Lead and collaborates with Medical (CSSs), Market Access (HSAMs), and Patient Support (PELs). They serve as the main contact for healthcare providers and must have broad expertise, including handling complex on-label information.

Responsibilities include:

  • Proactive outreach to HCPs on product access, on-label information, patient care guidance, and connecting providers with CSSs in real time.
  • Engaging customers via virtual/digital tools, ensuring requests are met, and gathering feedback.
  • Facilitating speaker programs and organizing provider discussions.
  • Providing insights and feedback to the ecosystem lead for strategic planning and targeting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience.
  • Reside within 50 miles of the primary city in the sales territory.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in life sciences or related industries engaging with healthcare ecosystem players.
  • 4+ years in sales roles with HCPs, preferably across multiple products and complex systems.
  • Clinical nurse or APN experience (highly valued).
  • Ability to operate in a transforming, ambiguous environment.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring, and target-exceeding track record.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and operational skills.

Salary range: $104,640 - $149,600 plus incentives, based on experience and skills.
