Cogent Scientific, an insourced contract research organization, seeks a Pharma Synthetic Organic Chemist for our Indianapolis, IN site. This onsite day-shift role involves leading and performing complex organic syntheses, purifications, and analytical work using LC-MS and NMR, across scales from milligrams to 100 g.

The ideal candidate holds an MS or PhD with relevant industrial experience, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and can mentor junior scientists while thriving in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry or related science with 5+ years of industrial lab experience, or PhD with 0–2 years.
• Willingness/ability to mentor junior scientists is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team.
• Very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions.
• Leadership and communication skills for a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

Responsabilités

• Working knowledge of modern transition metal catalysis.
• Purifying complex reaction mixtures.
• Utilizing LC-MS and NMR regularly.
• Running reactions on scales from 1 mg - 100 g.
• Experience running reactions at moderate to high gas pressures and use of autoclave-style reactors is a plus.
• Using and maintaining specialized lab equipment, including Autobalance, EasyMax, H-Cube, Endeavor, flow reactors and glove boxes.

We currently have a role available for a Pharma Synthetic Organic Chemist.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

This is an onsite, day shift position (approx. 8a-5p local time) at our Indianapolis, IN site. This role does not accommodate a hybrid or remote schedule.
