Job summary

Aurolife in Durham, NC is seeking a Chemist to perform QC testing to assess the strength, identity and purity of materials and finished products, working as part of a team at the bench.

The role requires a BS in a scientific field (Chemistry preferred), 1–3 years in pharmaceuticals and 1–2 years in analytical testing, with familiarity in GDP, USP/ICH/FDA guidelines and a proven ability to learn quickly and decide under supervision.

Qualifications

• BS in a scientific field required; Chemistry preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in pharmaceuticals; 1–2 years analytical testing desirable.
• QC experience in generic pharmaceutical industries preferable.
• Knowledge of Good Documentation practices; USP/ICH/FDA familiarity.
• Ability to learn quickly and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling, physical and chemical tests on raw materials, APIs, in-process, finished products and stability samples using USP/in-house procedures.
• Independently plan and manage inventory of test reagents and solutions.
• Plan and execute testing to meet established timelines; perform complex testing with supervisory direction.
• Record data and results per procedures; document work clearly.
• Prepare and review Test Procedures, SOPs, and Protocols; assist in instrument maintenance and calibration.
• Troubleshoot and investigate under supervision; ensure compliance with regulatory and in-house requirements.
• Review Analytical documents as required.
