Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Pharmaceutical Process Development Engineer to join their team in Welkom. You will optimize and scale up manufacturing processes for new and existing pharmaceutical products, leveraging chemical engineering principles to improve efficiency, yield, and robustness at commercial scale.

The role requires a strong background in GMP, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols, with a focus on process simulation and data-driven optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development or manufacturing engineering.
• Demonstrated experience with process scale-up, validation, and optimization of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols within the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct pilot-scale studies and analyze data to define CPPs and establish control strategies.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve yield and reduce waste.
• Prepare process development reports, validation protocols, and process descriptions for regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Operations teams to ensure smooth technology transfer and scale-up.
• Implement and adhere to GMP and safety regulations throughout all process development activities.
