Job summary

Catalent's Chelsea, Massachusetts site is a global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and DPI capsule manufacturing. The Buyer/Planner role oversees material purchasing and supply chain requirements to support production schedules.

The position is full-time and on-site, operating Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm in Chelsea, MA. Collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and external vendors is essential to ensure timely sourcing of materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of purchasing, inventory control, and warehousing experience.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems for inventory management.
• Experience with purchasing and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze daily material needs to ensure timely production readiness.
• Schedule and prioritize orders, expediting to meet timelines.
• Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate cost savings, manage POs and vendor setup.
• Monitor inventory levels, adjust reorder points, identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with the finance team on audits and timely payments.
• Drive process improvements in material planning, purchasing, and supplier performance.
• Support communication between internal teams and external vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
