Xeris Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a motivated intern to join the Formulations department for the Early-Stage Analytical team in our Chicago office. The role offers hands-on pharmaceutical analytics, data analysis, and collaboration across functions to optimize workflows.

Responsibilities include sample prep, instrument operation, data presentation, and a final internship review. Strong communication, teamwork, and lab skills are essential; returning to school after the internship is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biology, Chemistry, or related field with at least 2 years of undergrad.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
• Must return to an academic program for at least one semester after the internship.
• Strong interest in pharma industry or academia.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in laboratory safety and basic instruments; Excel familiarity.
• Undergraduate lab research experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples per SOPs, characterize drug molecules, analyze data, and document in ELN.
• Support day-to-day team operations as needed.
• Perform routine instrument operation, calibration, and basic maintenance.
• Present data and contribute ideas at weekly team meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
• Conduct studies to optimize experimental workflows.
• Prepare a comprehensive internship review and present it to the organization.
