Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline seeks an experienced site engineer at Zebulon, NC, to lead mechanical and automation initiatives on a multi-disciplinary team. You will support production, maintenance, quality, and EHS to deliver capital projects that align with the Zebulon True North strategy.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting production equipment, managing FAT/SAT and commissioning activities, and mentoring junior engineers in automation technologies. On-site role with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical, electrical, automation, chemical engineering or related discipline; 5+ years' relevant experience or AAS/technical diploma with 10+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience delivering mechanical and/or automation projects, technologies and troubleshooting in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience troubleshooting production equipment, instrumentation and controls.
• Experience preparing and executing FAT, SAT, loop checks and software testing for qualification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of current and future pharmaceutical platform technologies, focusing on automation, control systems and mechanical processes.
• Deliver continuous improvement projects for functionality, cost, quality and schedule adherence.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production for day-to-day troubleshooting of production issues.
• Provide process expertise and lead EHS assessments; ensure compliance with GSK policies and local codes.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure projects deliver benefits.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Coordinate with Shared Services and Centers of Excellence to maintain standards.
• Ensure performance management systems (GPS and Standard work) are used to manage priorities.
