Job summary

Cogent Scientific in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Pharma Cell Culture Biologist with a focus on cancer biology to join our onsite day shift (8a–5p). You will propagate and maintain mammalian cell lines and generate stocks to support ongoing oncology research.

The role requires a BA/BS in cell or molecular biology with at least five years of experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and in a team across functions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in cell biology, molecular biology, or related field; 5+ years with mammalian cell culture.
• Experience propagating and maintaining multiple mammalian cell lines (adherent and suspension).
• Familiar with tissue culture techniques such as propagation, cryopreservation, and maintenance.
• Experience coordinating shipment of cell lines domestically and internationally.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.

We currently have a role available for a Pharma Cell Culture Biologist with focus on cancer biology.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Propagating and maintaining multiple mammalian cell lines (both adherent and suspension) for oncology research.

• Generating high-quality cell line stocks to support ongoing research needs, covering the full banking lifecycle including expansion, cryopreservation, record-keeping, storage, and dispensing to ensure long-term availability and integrity of cell stocks.

• Coordinating domestic and international cell line shipments, following packaging standards, temperature controls, timelines, and other shipment requirements.

Job requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

• BA/BS in cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience working with mammalian cell culture lines (adherent and suspension).

• Familiarity with basic tissue culture techniques such as cell propagation, cryopreservation, and maintenance required.

• Experience supporting the preparation/shipment of cell lines/cell cultures.

  • Maintaining 5-10 cell culture lines is required.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to work well both independently and within a team.

• Very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions.

• The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.

This is an onsite, day shift position (approx. 8a-5p local time) in Indianapolis, IN.
